Speaking during a live political discussion on Symfoni TV, Fabiyi explained that since both men are not contesting for the presidency, they are in a better position to focus on rebuilding the party and ensuring fairness within its structure.
According to him, leaders who do not have personal .... presidential ambitions can provide neutral leadership and help create a transparent system for all aspirants. He stressed that such leaders are better suited to enforce discipline, promote trust, and protect the party’s internal democracy.
Fabiyi stated, “David Mark and Aregbesola are not running for president, so they have the duty to reset the ADC.” He explained that this responsibility .... includes making sure the party follows its constitution and established guidelines during the process of choosing candidates.
He added that both leaders must supervise credible and transparent primary elections where every aspirant is treated fairly and given equal opportunities. According to him, this will help build confidence among party members and strengthen the party’s image before the public.
Fabiyi also noted that the success of the ADC as part of the growing opposition coalition depends greatly on how well its leadership handles internal affairs, especially with the presence of several influential politicians seeking positions.
He warned that the party must avoid the mistakes made by other political parties, where poor leadership, unfair primaries, and internal conflicts weakened their chances during elections.
