Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, has called on Christians to reflect on the needed meaning of Easter by translating their faith and prayers into meaningful action.
Governor Fintiri, who stated this in his goodwill message to mark the Easter celebration, admonished residents to reflect on the suffering and resurrection of Jesus Christ, noting that the season symbolises hope and the triumph of perseverance over hardship.
The Governor, in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, emphasised the importance of sacrifice, love, and unity during the season.
He noted that the Easter celebration serves as a reminder of selflessness, urging citizens to emulate Christ’s example by supporting one another and promoting peace.
While calling on Christians to extend compassion to the less privileged, he stressed that such acts of kindness should define the celebration.
“And as we enter into this Easter Season, let’s remember that it is a season for sacrificing ourselves, the same season that Jesus was sacrificed for the sake of our sins and peace. He died for our healing and not for destruction”.
According to him, the love demonstrated through Christ’s sacrifice should inspire citizens to build a more caring and inclusive society.
The governor also urged residents to remain united and committed to the progress of Adamawa State, highlighting the need for forgiveness and collective responsibility in building a state that its people can be proud of.
The Governor, while appealing to residents to stay focused, work hard, and take responsibility for their development, warned against division among the people.
He reiterated his administration’s commitment to ensuring security and deploying necessary resources to maintain peace across the state and wish Christians a peaceful and joyful Easter celebration.
