
Edo state chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC), has elected chairmen and councillorship candidates ahead of the July 11, 2026 Local Government elections.
The candidates emerged through a direct primary election conducted across the 18 Local Government Areas (LGAs) and 192 wards in the state.
In Oredo and Egor LGAs, the incumbent chairmen, Osaro Eribo and Engr. Gabriel Iduseri respectively emerged victorious in the primary election.
The duo dedicated their victories to the people, noting that the exercise was highly competitive.
They commended Governor Monday Okpebholo for allowing a level-playing contest and pledged to justify the confidence reposed on them by the delegates.
The primary election was supervised by Abdullahi Bello, an official from the APC National Secretariat.
Speaking after the exercise, Bello commended party members for the peaceful conduct during the exercise.
He described the election as orderly and rancour-free across the 18 LGAs and 192 wards.
Bello expressed optimism that the party would emerge victorious in the forthcoming elections.
In his remarks, the Edo state chairman of the APC, Jarret Tenebe, charged the candidates to see their emergence as a call to service.
Tenebe urged them to work diligently to secure victory for the party at the polls across all LGAs and wards.
Returning officers for the LGAs thereafter, presented the results and declared winners.
