Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi has accused the US of resorting to “military adventure” over diplomacy to end the war in West Asia that has ravaged the world economy over the past two months.

He also claimed the country’s missile capacity has increased since the war broke out on February 28.

“Every time a diplomatic solution is on the table, the US opts for a reckless military adventure. Is it a crude pressure tactic? Or the result of a spoiler once again duping POTUS into another quagmire?” Araghchi wrote in his latest post on X after attacks flared up on the Strait of Hormuz on Friday, May 8.

The US and Iran traded blame over the flare-up that took place one day after Iran said it was reviewing the 14-point peace deal proposed by the US.

“Whatever the causes, outcome is the same: Iranians never bow to pressure,” he added.

US President Donald Trump, while acknowledging the scuffle, said the ceasefire is still in place.

In further rhetoric, he commented that America’s Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) was off the mark in estimating Iran’s defence capabilities, saying missile inventory and launcher capacity are at 120% instead of CIA’s estimate of 75% since February 28.

“As for our readiness to defend our people, 1000%” Araghchi wrote.
