Man dies from stab wounds after reporting attack to police in Adamawa

A tragic incident has been reported in Adamawa State after a 22-year-old man, Daniel Samuel, died from knife injuries shortly after reporting an alleged attack to the police.

Samuel, a resident of Michika town, reportedly visited the Divisional Police Headquarters in Michika on Sunday, April 12, with visible injuries and blood stains on his body.

According to accounts, he told officers that he had been attacked and stabbed in the back with a knife by two men identified as 23-year-old Dakiyar Tumba and 31-year-old Sini Luka, both said to be from the same area.

The Adamawa State Police Command which disclosed the incident, said that its operatives arrested the two individuals mentioned in connection with the case of conspiracy and culpable homicide.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje explained in a statement made available to newsmen in Yola that upon receipt of the report, operatives of the Command attached to the Divisional Police Headquarters in Michika rushed the victim to the hospital where he was later confirmed dead.

“The corpse has been deposited at the hospital morgue for autopsy,” Nguroje stated, adding that the two suspects are now in custody, and the knife used in committing the crime was recovered and will be used as an exhibit.

“The state Commissioner of Police, CP Kabir Umar Hassan condemned the incident and directed the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to ensure a diligent investigation and prosecution of the suspects,” Nguroje said.
