The National Information Technology Development Agency has launched an innovation hub to train National Youth Service Corps members in digital skills and entrepreneurship.
Director-General of NITDA, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, said the initiative aims to prepare young Nigerians for the evolving job market.
He said millions of youths enter the labour market annually, making skill development and innovation critical.
“Our goal is to ensure that corps members leave with businesses or valuable skills,” he said.
The hub, launched in Abuja, brought together officials of the National Youth Service Corps and technology stakeholders.
NYSC Director-General, Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu, described the initiative as important for youth development.
He said corps members should be seen as contributors to national development.
Some corps members showcased digital solutions aimed at improving identity management and service delivery.
