The Ogun state police command has paraded 146 suspected violent protesters, and vandals for alleged breach of public peace and  attack on a health facility in Sagamu.

The suspects were paraded at the Sagamu Divisional Police Headquarters in Sagamu, Tuesday.

The command’s spokesperson, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, who was flanked by the DPO Sagamu, CSP Fred Ode, his second-in-command, CSP Markus Wantana, and the vice chairman of Sagamu LGA, Isiaka Salami, stated that the suspects were part of a group of commercial motorcycle riders who unlawfully blocked the Oba Erinwole GRA Road in Sagamu on April 7, disrupting the movement of innocent citizens.

He said during the protest, the suspects attacked a hospital facility in Sagamu and denied some patients access to healthcare.

“The men who carried out the unlawful assembly and protest attacked the health centre. If you have a protest, what do medical personnel have to do with your grievances? What does a sick person in the sick bay have to do with your protest?”
