A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Rotimi Amaechi, has opened up on the reason for the rift between him and former president, Goodluck Jonathan.
Recall that Amaechi had earlier claimed that he was chased out of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife, Patience Jonathan.
According to him, the duo took control of the party structure in Rivers State and made it difficult for him to continue in the party, which eventually led to his exit.
Sharing more details in an interview with Channels Television on Friday, Amaechi said he did not agree with some of Jonathan’s policies.
In an interview with Channels Television on Friday, Amaechi said: “I was literally chased out of the PDP by former President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife.
“They took over the political structure in Rivers State and chased me out, and the same with APC.
“I will never keep quiet in the face of justice, when I do t,hat they start planning to make me irrelevant.
“That happened in PDP with Jonathan chasing me out and handed over the structure to other people and my offence was because I was the Chairman of Governors Forum.
“I just don’t agree with some of the policies Jonathan was pursuing, I had sat down with Jonathan several times on the issues of disagreement and what the policies are.
“The first day Tinubu won primaries, I told him that I don’t agree with him.”
