The Ebonyi State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has accused Governor Francis Nwifuru of moves aimed at weakening opposition politics in the state ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The party alleged that there were plans by the state government to revoke the Certificate of Occupancy of its secretariat located in Abakaliki. PDP described the development as part of a wider attempt to suppress opposition voices in the state.
Politics Nigeria reports that the allegation was contained in a statement issued on Monday by the party leadership in Ebonyi. The statement was jointly signed by the state Chairman, Chukwuma Igwe, State Secretary, Henry Ngonu, and the State Publicity Secretary, Prince Darlington Onwe....... .
