Three men employed as workers at Mobil Filing station have been arrested and charged before an Ogba Magistrate Court in Lagos State for allegedly stealing total sum of N9.2m from sales.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the defendants, Adoke Habib, 29; Seye Oyegbola, 32; and Anuoluwapo Godwin, 28, were alleged to have conspired with others now at large, on 13th and 14th March 2026, at Mobil Filling Station, Agidingbi, to steal the money separately.
According to the Police, the defendants committed the alleged offence and it was discovered when the company carried out an internal audit.
The company discovered that the money was missing and it was traced to the defendants and they were unable to explain what happened to the money.
The matter was reported to the Police at Alausa Division. They were arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over the missing and were found culpable after rounds of interrogation.
Thus, they were charged before the Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.
According to the Police, Adoke Habib allegedly stole ₦950,000.00 while Seye Oyegbola stole ₦4,473,400.00 and Anuoluwapo Godwin stole ₦3,796,900.00, property of Mobil Filling Station, contrary to Section 287 of the Criminal Laws of the State.
However, they pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Josephine Ihkayere, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. L.A. Owolabi, granted them bail with sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendants were remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
