U.S. President Donald Trump defended his administration’s approach to global conflicts, saying the United States has recorded far fewer military casualties under his leadership than in previous overseas wars.…....
Speaking during a broadcast at the White House, Trump reflected on decades of U.S. military involvement in countries such as Afghanistan, Iraq, South Korea, and Vietnam, criticizing the scale of human losses recorded during those campaigns.
“We lost hundreds of thousands of soldiers in these various wars, in two wars,” Trump said, comparing earlier military interventions to operations carried out during his presidency.
The president argued that unlike prolonged conflicts of the past, his administration has sought to avoid deeper military entanglements while maintaining pressure on adversaries, particularly Iran. He claimed that recent U.S. operations have weakened Tehran economically and strategically without exposing American forces to large-scale casualties.
Trump also referenced the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, noting that 13 American service members were killed, while emphasizing that even a single military death is significant.
Trump used the briefing to highlight what he described as strong economic performance, pointing to increased manufacturing investments from countries including Germany, Japan, and South Korea.
He concluded by expressing confidence in his administration’s direction, saying the United States was entering what he described as a historic period of political and economic success.
