Rachel died a little over a week ago, after a petrol attack allegedly linked to her political views. She had been popular on social media for getting a tattoo of Ruto and his ‘tutam’ slogan.
The woman’s burial was slated for today, Thursday, May 28, in Kerugoya, but it now turns out that her family left the Montezuma Monalisa Funeral home without her body, despite arriving early for the exercise.
The family was left stranded after failing to produce the necessary paperwork needed to release the body.
The burial permit is alleged to be with Rachel’s husband, who had earlier lamented being sidelined in the burial arrangements, claiming that Rachel’s mum and siblings had not even visited her children since the death of their mum.

The man had demanded to bury her, saying they had been married for 14 years and had two kids.
“They are denying my brother the chance to bury his wife, yet they had a 14-year marriage. The family said he had not completed paying the dowry,” Peter Njaramba’s sister said a couple of days ago.
Details now show that the family still plans on proceeding with the burial ceremony without her remains.
