Human rights activist and AAC presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has warned that Nigerians may be forced to occupy Aso Rock if President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the nation’s service chiefs fail to secure the release of abducted Oyo schoolchildren and other kidnapped citizens.
Sowore, in a strongly worded statement, said the federal government must act urgently to track down the kidnappers and rescue the victims, warning that patience is running out.
According to him, the continued abduction of Nigerians, including schoolchildren, shows the worsening insecurity in the country and the need for decisive action from the presidency and security agencies.
“If Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his service chiefs fail to track down and secure the release of the abducted Oyo schoolchildren and other kidnapped people, we will have no choice but to occupy Aso Rock this week!” Sowore said.
His statement comes amid growing public anger over kidnappings, killings, and attacks on communities across the country, with many Nigerians demanding stronger security action from the federal government.
The threat of protest is expected to intensify pressure on the Tinubu administration as citizens continue to raise concerns over the safety of schools, travellers, farmers, and vulnerable communities.
