Gombe 2027: Pantami’s Support Group Endorses Jamilu Isyaku Gwamna

Pantamiyya Movement Brotherhood (PMB), a political group loyal to former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, has declared its support for Dr Jamilu Isyaku Gwamna, gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State.

Gwamna was declared winner of the primary election after polling 247,161 votes to defeat Pantami who scored 12,120 votes and the former Minister of Transportation, Senator Saidu Ahmed Alkali, who got 11, 612 votes.

Gwamna was earlier picked as the consensus candidate of the APC, but there was resistance from Prof. Pantami and Senator Alkali, forcing the party to conduct the primaries.

Pantami later withdrew from the exercise, citing alleged violations of the Electoral Act 2026 and the party’s failure to provide a channel of communication and information essential for a credible primary election.

However, despite Pantami’s withdrawal from the race, PMB announced that it would support Gwamna.

The Movement, led by prominent grassroots mobiliser, Sanusi Hamisu Usman, declared its support during a solidarity visit to Dr Gwamna on Saturday.

He said the decision of the movement, which has over 100 coordinators spread across all wards in the 11 local government areas of the state, was driven by Gwamna’s growing acceptance within the APC family and among the wider grassroots population.

According to him, the movement is determined to support what he called “the emergence of a worthy successor” capable of consolidating the achievements of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.

“We are here to demonstrate our solidarity and commitment to the project of ensuring APC remains united and victorious in 2027. Dr Gwamna has shown humility, experience, and the capacity to carry everyone along,” he said.

Sanusi Usman also appealed to Prof, Isa Pantami, and other aspirants in the APC governorship race to close ranks with Gwamna in the overall interest of the party and the development of the state.

He stressed that unity among party stakeholders remained critical to securing a landslide victory for the APC in both the governorship and presidential elections.
