A Ghanaian woman has reportedly been left in fear and confusion after a Bolt driver allegedly took her slippers from in front of her home following a disagreement over a mobile money (MoMo) payment.…....
According to the woman, she had attempted to pay the driver via MoMo, but he refused to accept the transfer, claiming he feared she might reverse the payment.
At the time, she also did not have cash to settle the fare. Moments after she left, the driver allegedly picked up her slippers and drove away.
The woman expressed concern that the driver could use the slippers for juju, noting that she had bought them for 50 Ghana cedis and frequently used them during the rainy season.
In a video she shared online, she appealed to Ghanaians for help, stating, “I’ve had a chat with the officials of Bolt, and they told me to make a case with the police.
“I don’t know what to tell the police. Please, if there’s a legal way to do this, help me. I don’t know why he has taken my slippers. His name is Abraham Yindin. I called him and he said he won’t use the slippers for anything. But if he’s not using them, why did he take them? He has diabolical plans towards me.”
The incident has sparked discussions online about the safety of customers and the need for clear dispute-resolution mechanisms between ride-hailing drivers and clients.
While the driver insists he has no ill intentions, the woman remains uneasy, highlighting how seemingly minor misunderstandings can escalate into situations that create fear and uncertainty.
