Minister of Defence Retired General Christopher Musa has expressed deep disappointment over the failed coup attempt, saying he was troubled not just by the act itself but by how senior military officers involved dragged inexperienced junior officers into a plot they had no business being part of.
Speaking on Arise TV, Musa said, “I just looked at the people who were involved in that coup and I shook my head, because they are just a bunch of confused individuals who exposed very junior officers who did not know their left from their right, and put them into this mess. It is quite unfortunate. We always feel bad when we see our colleagues faltering. But the good thing is that the system has a way of going about it. The investigation was very thorough. The prosecution is now ongoing, and the court martial will proceed as planned. We are giving them all the benefits to defend themselves, but the facts on the ground are very, very clear.”
Musa stressed that the process was being handled transparently and in full accordance with established military and legal procedures, with nothing concealed from scrutiny.
