Nigerian broadcast journalist Adedayo Oderinu has stated that a man has failed as a husband if he does not invest in his wife enough to make her attractive to other men.

The civil engineer turned journalist made this controversial statement in a Facebook post on Sunday, May 17, 2026. He was responding to a tweet by a user named Nonso, who had argued that a married woman being approached by other men is a sign of disrespect to her husband and a failure of her family source.

“The Frankly speaking, if you don’t invest in your wife enough to make her attractive to other men, I think you have failed as a husband. The only things you have that other people don’t want, are the useless things,” he wrote.
