Fresh information has emerged that U.S President, Donald Trump might be silent over the happenings in Nigeria due to the relationship between his in-law, Massad Boulos and the Nigerian government.

NAIJAONPOINT reports that Trump in late 2025 and early 2026, made significant threats regarding military intervention in Nigeria, targeting what he alleged was the unchecked killing of Christians by extremist groups.

However, reports suggested that Boulos who is the Senior Advisor to Trump on African Affairs might have waded in on the situation as he was said to enjoy some level of authority both in the United States and Nigeria.

Massad Boulos, a Nigerian-Lebanese businessman has been active in Nigeria for decades, with his family having deep roots in the country. He has long served as CEO of SCOA Nigeria PLC, which has operated in Nigeria for over 40 years.

His son, Michael Boulos, is married to President Trump’s younger daughter, Tiffany Trump.

His company, SCOA Nigeria Plc is said to be a major supplier of machinery and technology for Hi-Tech construction currently working on the 700km Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and the Lagos-Badagry-Sokoto road network.

The Non-Executive Independent Director and Chairman of Audit Committee, SCOA Nigeria Plc, Mr Magnus Onyibe, in an interview with journalists, confirmed that SCOA Nigeria Plc is a supplier of concrete, road construction and mining equipment.

NAIJAONPOINT reports that Hitech Constructions Company Ltd, owned by the family of Gilbert Chagoury, who was explicitly listed as the president’s “confidante” when he attended the COP28 climate summit in Dubai, UAE, in December 2023, as a member of Nigeria’s delegation, got the contracts for the roads.

The Nigerian government awarded Hitech Construction a $13 billion contract for the entire coastal highway project and also gave the company the construction of Lagos-Badagry-Sokoto superhighway project.

Also, ITB Nigeria, a construction firm owned by Chagoury, will execute the $1 billion (N1.4 trillion) renovation contract of Lagos Tin Can and Apapa Ports.

Tinubu had, in January, conferred the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON), Nigeria’s second-highest honour, on Chagoury.
