Meet The Nigerian-American ‘U.S. Drone Builder’ Who Is Transforming Robotics And Space Technology

Popularly known as the “U.S. Drone Builder,” Dr. Osemwengie is originally from Edo State, Nigeria. He relocated to the United States in the early 1980s and built an outstanding career in engineering, education, and technology development.

Over the years, he became widely recognized for helping to develop drones used by the United States Army for surveillance and tactical operations.

Beyond military technology, the highly respected scientist also worked on research connected to NASA projects, including prototype work linked to the Mars Curiosity Rover mission. His achievements in robotics have earned him international recognition among leading Black scientists and engineers.

Academically, Dr. Osemwengie stands out as one of the most educated Nigerians abroad. Reports describe him as having seven master’s degrees and multiple PhDs in fields connected to education, software engineering, information systems, and robotics research.

He studied at institutions including the University of Cincinnati, Regis University, and Keller Graduate School of Management.
