A Nigerian lady has sparked reactions online after defending her boyfriend despite allegedly being physically abused by him.
According to her, her boyfriend personally took her to the hospital for treatment after allegedly beating her and later apologised for his actions.
In her words, she said:
“There’s nothing anyone can tell me, I know my boyfriend truly loves me because after he finished beating me that day, he took me to the hospital by himself to do X-ray and still paid for my treatment. He apologised and promised not to hit me again.”
The lady explained that although her friends advised her to leave the relationship, she refused because they had been together for 13 years.
She also stated that her boyfriend later bought provisions and other items for her recovery, insisting that nobody is perfect in relationships.
“My friends were advising me to leave him, but I told them I can’t. 13 years relationship, where I wan take see another love? He bought me milk, Milo and plenty things to recover.”
“He doesn’t allow me have a say in the relationship. If I try talk whenever he’s talking to me, he will slap me. But I know it’s love, someone that loves you will correct you,” she added.
Her statement has generated heated reactions online, with many social media users expressing concern over her understanding of love and abusive relationships.
