The Deputy Editor-in-Chief (DEIC) Multimedia, Lagos, of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Mrs Omobolanle Esther Akingbehin, has retired from the News Agency of Nigeria after 17 years of service, expressing gratitude, nostalgia and pride over what she described as a fulfilling and memorable professional journey, reports thegazellenews.com

Akingbehin announced the end of her service in a farewell message released at the conclusion of her career with the agency, where she reflected on years of dedication, growth and enduring professional relationships built within the organisation.

She described her experience at NAN as more than a career, saying the agency became a family and a place that shaped her professionally and personally through learning, friendship and unforgettable memories.

“Working with NAN has been more than just a career for me; it has been a family, a place of growth, learning, friendship and unforgettable memories. Though I may be withdrawing my service from the agency, the love, bond and friendships we have built over the years will always remain with me,” she said.

The outgoing DEIC expressed appreciation to the Managing Director of the agency, members of management, the Editor-in-Chief, the Special Assistant on Editorial Matters, Head of Lagos Operations, Head of Editorial Department Lagos, Deputy Editors-in-Chief, senior editorial staff, colleagues and other members of staff who contributed to her career journey.

She particularly paid glowing tribute to members of the Multimedia Team in Lagos and Abuja, whom she described as family after over 17 years of working together.

“Above all, to my Multimedia Team my family in Lagos and Abuja for over 17 years thank you for the support, cooperation, laughter and shared experiences. You made the journey worthwhile, and I will truly miss every one of you,” she stated.

Furthermore, Akingbehin said she was stepping into another phase of life with deep appreciation for the opportunities and relationships the agency provided throughout her years of service.

“As I step into another phase of life, I carry with me beautiful memories and deep appreciation for the opportunities and relationships NAN has given me,” she added.

She, however, wished the agency and members of staff continued success and greater accomplishments in the years ahead.

“Thank you all for being part of my story. I wish the agency and every member of staff continued success and greater achievements ahead,” she said.
