A resident of Yawota village in Oriire LGA of Oyo State has stated that his daughter-in-law was among the people abducted when armed bandits attacked three schools in Oriire on May 15, 2026.…....
In an interview on With Chude, the resident said the bandits entered Yawota village dressed in army camouflage uniforms around 9 a.m. He said the bandits went to the school in the community and began shooting sporadically.
The resident said the bandits abducted both schoolchildren and teachers who were unable to escape and took them away.
In his words: “It was around 9 a.m in the morning, they passed this route dressed in army camouflage. We didn’t take it as big deal since we saw the army camouflage. As they got to the school junction they just branched into the school and they started shooting everywhere”.
