According to a video posted on the official YouTube channel of Channels Television on Monday, May 25, 2026, public affairs analyst Jide Ojo expressed concern over the lingering leadership crisis within the African Democratic Congress (ADC), warning that the internal dispute could weaken the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.…....
Speaking during the programme, Ojo said the growing division within the party may continue to affect its ability to function effectively as an opposition platform. He noted that the disagreement among party stakeholders has already created uncertainty over the party’s structure and leadership.
According to him, “The crisis in the ADC is not likely to end anytime soon unless they resolve it out of court.”
Ojo explained that prolonged legal battles could further deepen the conflict and slow down the party’s preparations for future elections. He advised party leaders and aggrieved members to embrace dialogue and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms rather than relying entirely on the courts.
The analyst also warned that continuous factional disputes could discourage members and supporters who expect the party to present a united front.
He added that political parties must strengthen their internal conflict resolution processes to avoid damaging their public image and electoral chances ahead of the next election cycle in Nigeria.
