Peter Obi Reacts to Reports of Goodluck Jonathan’s Alleged 2027 Presidential Ambition

Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has reacted to reports linking former President Goodluck Jonathan to the 2027 presidential race, saying he is not aware of Jonathan’s alleged intention to contest.

Obi made the remark while addressing questions on the growing political speculation ahead of the next general election, stressing that his focus remains on building a better Nigeria rather than political horse-trading.

“I am going about looking for who’s… I am only concerned about building a better Nigeria,” he said.

The comment comes amid increasing political discussions around the 2027 presidential contest in Nigeria, with various names already being speculated as potential contenders.

While rumours of Jonathan’s possible return to the ballot continue to circulate, there has been no official confirmation from the former president regarding participation in the race.

Obi, however, maintained that his priority remains national development, dismissing distractions around early political alignments and endorsements.
