The development has sparked heated debates across X, formerly Twitter, with Nigerians divided over the authenticity of the viral audio clip. While some users called for the arrest of VeryDarkMan, popularly known as VDM, others argued that the recording appeared to be artificially generated and should be properly verified before conclusions are drawn.

The debate intensified after X user Bolaji Fesomade publicly backed calls for action against VDM over the controversial audio.

According to him:

> “VDM will be arrested and, nothing will happen. He’s gone beyond his reach. No protest will save him from this.”

His statement triggered widespread reactions from other users, many of whom questioned the authenticity of the voice note and suggested that the clip may have been generated using Artificial Intelligence technology.

One user, @Yomi_Core, cautioned against rushing to conclusions, writing:

> “Please if you are here. Try and look for the correct video before you follow data boys. Why didn’t you drop the real link to this post?”

Another user, @urkarmer, argued that the audio did not sound genuine.

> “As much as I dislike this administration, it’s obvious this voice note is fake. It’s AI generated.”

Similarly, @E_A_Valentine stated:

> “This is pure AI. You can tell from how fast the voice is. It goes fast and slow in an abnormal sequence.”

Other users insisted that the recording did not sound like President Tinubu at all, while some maintained that the matter should still be investigated thoroughly by authorities.

Meanwhile, @Quantum1149 challenged critics to verify the original source of the video before making accusations.

The controversy has continued to fuel conversations online about misinformation, AI-generated content, and the growing challenge of verifying viral materials on social media platforms.
