THANK YOU THISDAY

During the past few days, I heard about the upcoming Muslim Public Holiday, but I wondered  what this particular holiday is called by the Muslims. May I add that while I was engaged in our house-to-house ministry [as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses] on Saturday last week, I met some Muslims at their homes and even asked them what the upcoming holiday is called. Neither of them was willing to let me know, though, not to talk of even willing to engage in a friendly conversation.

It was not until yesterday,  May 27, after seeing the multiple bank and other companies adverts published in THISDAY  Newspapers, wishing the Muslims a happy holiday, that I got to read your editorial piece tagged “A SEASON OF SACRIFICE AND LOVE,” that I got to learn exactly what the holiday was meant to celebrate: the sacrifice that Abraham [or prophet Ibrahim] was about to make, of his only son, Isaac, before an Angel appeared and stopped him from sacrificing his only son, and offering him an alternative sacrifice of a ram 🐏, instead.

Thank you THISDAY for this enlightening Editorial.
