Former Rivers State Governor and former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi has alleged that authorities have warned that he is the next political figure targeted for arrest, following the detention of former Attorney General Abubakar Malami and former Kaduna Governor Mallam Nasir El-Rufai.
Speaking on Trust TV, Amaechi said the threats have not shaken his resolve. “They arrested Malami. They arrested El-Rufai. They have already said that I’m the next and that they are coming for me and we are here. So you ask yourself: if it were that easy to beat us, why are they doing this?” he said.
Amaechi alleged that the ruling party’s preoccupation with the ADC stands as an evidence that the coalition poses a genuine threat to the APC’s hold on power.
He argued that neither he nor Atiku Abubakar would be investing their time and resources in the ADC if they believed it stood no chance of winning, and pointed out that the ruling party would not be expending energy fighting a party it did not consider a serious challenger….See More
