  • Kenneth Okonkwo has reacted to Peter Obi’s alleged party switches, saying it does not question his competence.
  • He stated that frequent party changes should not be used to question a politician’s ability, while also expressing skepticism about Obi’s recent political direction.

Nollywood actor and politician, Kenneth Okonkwo, has reacted to reports surrounding Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, allegedly moving between political parties within a short period.

Okonkwo stated that frequent party changes should not be used to question a politician’s ability, while also expressing skepticism about Obi’s recent political direction.

“Peter Obi has changed party three times within six months. Since he moved to the NDC, I have not taken it seriously. Changing party does not question anyone’s capacity. The ADC cannot possibly be missing anything because he left,” he said.

The remarks have triggered mixed reactions on social media, with supporters and critics weighing in on party loyalty and political strategy in Nigeria.

One user, @silas_mayor, reacted strongly, writing, “This guy is a fool. Why didn’t Atiku defend his own votes. Make sure you win your polling unit for him.”

Another user, @Eddys_Hair, noted, “Changing parties is common in Nigerian politics but people will always interpret it differently depending on their side.”

Some commenters suggested strategic motives behind the alleged moves. @Kingkosec wrote, “Allegedly, Obi has planned out before hand to trap many unpure politicians before coming to NDC since last year.”

Others criticized the political discourse itself. @OracleAyo said, “Go and do the VP. We will be here.”

Meanwhile, @LEGACY870 simply commented, “Let it be,” reflecting the mixed sentiments trailing the development.
