Trump-backed Board of Peace fund remains empty months after launch: Report
The financial fund linked to US President Donald Trump’s proposed “Board of Peace” initiative has not received any donor money nearly four months after it was established, despite reported pledges of $17 billion, the Financial Times reported citing four people familiar with the matter.
According to the report, the organisation — set up through the World Bank — remains in limbo, with no funds yet flowing to projects in Gaza.

The Financial Times also reported that earlier this year, the Trump administration had

asked countries seeking permanent membership on the proposed Board of Peace to contribute at least $1 billion each.
The report said the lack of incoming funds has raised questions over the future of the initiative and its ability to begin reconstruction or development work in Gaza.
