VeryDarkMan Calls for Tinubu’s Resignation Over Insecurity, Criticises Presidential Interview

Popular Nigerian social media activist Martins Otse, known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has reacted strongly to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s recent interview addressing the country’s security challenges.

In a viral statement shared online, VDM accused the president of failing to provide clear solutions to Nigeria’s worsening insecurity situation, which has continued to claim lives and displace communities across the country.

According to him, President Tinubu “does not have the answers” and should consider stepping down if he cannot effectively tackle the crisis.

“President Tinubu does not have the answers, he should step down before Boko Haram and other terrorist groups finish us all,” VDM reportedly said.

He further criticised the president’s response during the interview, claiming that instead of addressing insecurity directly, Tinubu referenced religious narratives, including the biblical account of Abraham and Isaac.

VDM described the comparison as inappropriate given the gravity of Nigeria’s security situation, saying it showed a lack of seriousness in handling national issues.

“It’s like giving a 2-year-old child a statement of account to audit,” he added, using the analogy to question the president’s competence in managing the crisis.

The comments have since sparked reactions online, with supporters and critics divided over his remarks, as debates continue over the federal government’s handling of insecurity across various regions of the country.

Security remains one of the most pressing challenges facing Nigeria, with ongoing attacks, kidnappings, and banditry reported in several states.
