Speaking during an interview on the internal dispute within the PDP, Sani reacted to concerns surrounding the collection of nomination fees and control of party accounts ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
His comments followed recent claims linked to supporters of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, that any unauthorized account used for collecting nomination form payments could be challenged or blocked.
Responding to the controversy, Sani insisted that his faction remains in control of the legitimate financial structure of the party.
“We have inherited the party’s account, and that is where we are putting our money and where Jonathan made his payment,” he stated during the interview.
Sani further maintained that former President Goodluck Jonathan had properly obtained the PDP nomination form through the recognized party channel controlled by his faction.
