What happened in the 4 Akoko LGAs was not an election. It was allocation of votes – Ajipe

Addressing journalists in Owo, Ajipe alleged that the results declared in four out of the six local government areas in Ondo North were manipulated and did not reflect the actual outcome of the primary conducted on May 18, 2026.…....

He maintained that the exercise was properly conducted only in Owo and Ose local government areas, where he claimed to have emerged victorious, while insisting that the figures announced for Akoko Northwest, Akoko Northeast, Akoko Southeast and Akoko Southwest were fabricated.

Expressing his frustration over the process, Ajipe said, “What happened in the 4 Akoko LGAs was not an election. It was allocation of votes in broad daylight.”

He explained that collation officers allegedly instructed party members to record results on plain sheets of paper with assurances that the figures would later be transferred to official result sheets at designated collation centres. According to him, the officials later disappeared without completing the process, creating confusion that was followed by conflicting results circulating online.

Ajipe further claimed that before the disruption, early voting patterns suggested he was leading in some areas, while other aspirants were also ahead in their respective strongholds before the process was abruptly interrupted.

He accused those involved of undermining internal democracy and called on the APC National Working Committee to review the exercise and declare him the rightful winner based on what he described as validly counted votes.

The aspirant also criticised what he described as the governor’s interference in the process, alleging that the entire exercise was handed over to political loyalists who ensured the emergence of Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye.
