APGA Crisis Deepens as Aggrieved Aspirants Reject Soludo’s Peace Meeting

Some aggrieved aspirants of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) have reportedly vowed to boycott a reconciliation meeting convened by Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, according to AIF Media.

The meeting, scheduled to hold on Saturday, June 27, at the Government House in Awka, is said to be aimed at reconciling party members, particularly aspirants who lost during the APGA primary election held on May 23.

According to AIF Media, Governor Soludo, who is the leader of the party in the state, intends to appeal to the dissatisfied aspirants to remain loyal to APGA and refrain from working against the party ahead of the 2027 general election.

However, several of the aggrieved aspirants reportedly told AIF Media that they would not honour the invitation, alleging that the primary election was neither free nor fair.

One of the aspirants was quoted as saying, “We will boycott the meeting. The governor promised us a free and fair primary election, but I was rigged out.”

Another aspirant alleged, “After spending millions, they played me. There was no proper election in my area.”

According to AIF Media, some of the dissatisfied aspirants vowed to remain in APGA but work against the party during the 2027 elections.

“We will remain in APGA and work against the party. Let’s see how the candidates they gave tickets will deliver themselves,” another aspirant reportedly said.

Another source quoted by AIF Media alleged that some party leaders extorted aspirants during the primary process and insisted that attending the meeting would not change their position.

As of the time of filing this report, APGA and the Anambra State Government had not publicly responded to the allegations.

AIF Media said it would continue to monitor developments and provide updates on the outcome of the meeting.
