Human rights activist and AAC presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has launched a fresh attack on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, arguing that Nigeria’s governance and institutions are being undermined by what he described as a crisis of moral leadership at the highest level.
In a statement posted on social media, Sowore claimed that a country led by a leader allegedly linked to drug trafficking would struggle to uphold integrity, accountability, and ethical governance.
According to him, the conduct of public institutions often reflects the character and values of those in power, alleging that agencies expected to serve Nigerians are instead being used to protect political interests.
Sowore specifically referenced the Department of State Services (DSS), accusing its leadership of prioritizing loyalty to powerful political actors rather than the Nigerian people.
“It may be difficult for some compatriots to hear, but a nation governed by a leader involved in drug trafficking stands little chance of getting its moral compass right,” he stated.
The activist further warned against the abuse of state power, insisting that no government or public official remains beyond accountability forever.
“A day of reckoning is always near,” he added, using the hashtag #RevolutionNow.
The comments come amid ongoing political tensions and legal battles involving Sowore and the Federal Government, as debates over governance, accountability, and democratic freedoms continue to dominate Nigeria’s political landscape.
