Lionel Messi has teamed up with Adidas to launch a special collection titled El Último Tango, ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The new release celebrates Messi’s remarkable international career with Argentina national football team, highlighting his long journey from his World Cup debut in 2006 to his status as a global football icon and defending world champion.
Inspired by the iconic +F50.6 TUNIT boots Messi wore during his first World Cup appearance, the collection blends nostalgic design elements with modern performance innovation. Adidas described the original boots as a defining symbol of early-2000s football footwear, known for their futuristic look and modular construction.
The El Último Tango boots feature a refreshed white-and-sky-blue colour scheme, paying tribute to Argentina’s national identity while preserving design cues from the classic F50 series associated with Messi’s early career.
Beyond match boots, the collection expands into lifestyle wear, including trainers, retro-inspired tracksuits, premium T-shirts, and accessories. A standout item is the Messi AdiStar Control 5 trainer, designed in matching white, sky blue, and gold tones.
According to Adidas, the capsule is intended to honour both Messi’s past achievements and his continued presence on football’s biggest stage. Messi, who lifted the World Cup in 2022, is expected to make another appearance at the tournament, marking what could be his sixth participation in the competition.
The collection positions itself as both a tribute and a celebration of one of football’s greatest careers, as Messi prepares to add another chapter to his enduring legacy on the global stage.
