Former Lagos State Deputy Governor Olufemi Pedro has officially assumed office as Nigeria’s ambassador to Australia and three sovereign Pacific nations, including New Zealand.

Pedro formally submitted his letters of credence on June 23 to Sam Mostyn, the Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia.

In a statement, Pedro expressed his commitment to strengthening bilateral relations between Nigeria and the Pacific nations.

His appointment reflects the continued trust in Yoruba leadership on the global stage.
