Celebrity businessman Wale Jana has joined the growing conversation surrounding actor Baba Ijesha’s recent announcement of the birth of his son, describing the development as a demonstration of God’s mercy and compassion.
In a post shared on Instagram on Tuesday, Jana cited Romans 9:15 while reflecting on the actor’s journey from conviction and imprisonment to starting a new family.
According to him, Baba Ijesha’s case differs from situations involving mere allegations because the actor was prosecuted, convicted and served a prison sentence.
Despite that, Jana said the actor has experienced what he described as divine mercy, noting that he has rebuilt his life, married a successful woman and welcomed a child.

Quoting from the Bible, Jana wrote: “Romans 9:15 ‘For he says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.”’”
He added: “When I saw this post my mouth went because of Baba Ijesha. You know there’s a difference when people accuse you of something and there is no proof to it but when you take a matter to court and you are pronounced guilty and you go to prison for it then it’s a totally different ball game. Baba Ijesha is a registered sex offender but that has not stopped God from showing him mercy or giving him a new beginning.”
Jana further pointed to the actor’s marriage and the birth of his son as evidence that life can still take a positive turn despite past mistakes.
“Listen if you can’t find a wife to marry you need to pray for mercy! Baba Ijesha didn’t just marry any woman, his wife is an accomplished successful woman and now they have a son!”
The businessman maintained that divine mercy is not subject to human approval, arguing that many people would have preferred that Baba Ijesha remain ostracised indefinitely.
“It is also proof that God doesn’t consult men to show mercy, He Will have mercy on whom He will have mercy. Left to many of us Baba Ijesha should be cancelled for life but when mercy says no you don’t have a choice than to admire the wonders of God!”
Encouraging those facing challenges, Jana added: “I don’t know where you are or what you have been through but God can show you mercy and lift your head again!”
Baba Ijesha was convicted in 2021 for sexually assaulting a minor and was released from prison on November 14, 2025.
The actor announced the birth of his son with celebrity stylist and entrepreneur Luminee on Monday, drawing mixed reactions across social media.
While some users criticised the development in light of his past conviction, others viewed it through the lens of forgiveness, redemption and second chances.
