Father Arrested After Shocking Allegations Involving Teenage Daughter

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kwara State has arrested 40-year-old AbdulRauf Ambali over allegations of incest and unlawful sexual intercourse with his 14-year-old daughter.

NSCDC Kwara Commandant Abbas Nda-Muhammed disclosed the development to journalists in Ilorin, explaining that the suspect was apprehended following credible information from concerned members of the public in Alapa, Asa Local Government Area.

The case was initially reported at the Alapa Divisional Office on June 16 before being transferred to the Command’s Gender Unit for detailed investigation.

According to the commandant, the matter was first brought to the Corps’ attention by the suspect himself, who reported that his daughter had been missing from home for three weeks.

Operatives from the Gender Unit launched an investigation and successfully located the minor, who disclosed during interrogation that she had deliberately fled her father’s residence after enduring months of alleged sexual abuse and intimidation.

Preliminary findings indicated that the victim had lived with her grandmother for most of her childhood before being brought into her father’s custody in December 2025, ostensibly for parental care.

She alleged that shortly after moving in with him, the abuse began, and that she was repeatedly threatened and beaten whenever she resisted.

The abuse reportedly continued until she could no longer bear it, prompting her to leave home without telling anyone where she was going.

Nda-Muhammed further disclosed that the victim allegedly became pregnant in May as a result of the abuse, and that her father took her to a private facility where the pregnancy was terminated.

She also claimed she was warned never to disclose what had happened and was later advised to begin using family planning measures to prevent future pregnancies.

During questioning, the suspect reportedly admitted to having had unlawful sexual relations with his daughter.

The commandant condemned the act as a profound betrayal of parental responsibility and a serious violation of the child’s rights and dignity, reaffirming the Corps’ commitment to protecting vulnerable members of society.

He urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspected criminal activity to relevant security agencies.

This is a deeply sensitive matter involving child sexual abuse.
