Ivy Ifeoma, the wife of Paul Okoye, has advised women against making marrying rich men their goals.
In a video she shared on her page, she admonished her génder to focus on building themselves, becoming financially stable and ambitious, rather than depending on a man’s wealth.
She explained that rich men are likely to be attracted to women who are invested in themselves, adding that women should aim to become successful on their own and see a rich partner as an “odd-on” rather than the goal.
Using herself as an example, she noted that she had already built a successful life before meeting the music star. She further noted that she had been working and earning money during her school days and continued doing so after graduation.
Ivy stressed that financial independence gives women peace of mind and confidence regardless of who they eventually marry.
“Before you even try to come for me, I was already a millionaire before because I was already working in school, from school, and out of school before I met this man.” She further stated that marrying a rich man should not be seen as the ultimate achievement, because the wealth belongs to the man, not necessarily to the woman.
Instead, she encouraged women to seek partners who are generous and supportive”.
Weeks ago, she had responded to a follower who told her to always wear her wedding ring. Ifeoma questioned if he would advise her husband to do the same, and slammed him for saying her band adds to her self-worth.
A year ago, Ifeoma sent a message to trolls, saying their words no longer affect her. She expressed disappointment in those trolls who attack celebrities and claim to be cruising with them and seeking their attention. She wished they could understand how embarrassing it is to drop hate comments for fun, recognition or money. She urged them to save themselves the embarrassment, noting how they looked stupīd.
Ifeoma, had sent a message to online in-laws and advisers, admonishing them to rest with all the advice.
Her statement didn’t sit well with many who noted the hypocrisy in her statement, especially since her husband is fond of advising on social media.
Recall that since her relationship with Paul was made public, the influencer has received criticism from online users.
The mum of one spoke on the ills of being the girlfriend of a high-profile celebrity, admitting that she gets hurt by the comments she read online about herself, but tries to stay strong. She said the most painful of the comments is when she gets called a homewrecker.
Addressing it, Ivy expressed that she had nothing to do with Paul and Anita’s marriage split at all and that a lot of people were addicted to misinformation. She further stated that she got into a relationship with a man who was very single.
Defending her, Paul Okoye noted how many internet users wish all divorces were toxic and were fond of looking for people to blame so they could be entertained.
