A Nigerian lady has sparked reactions online after calling out men who claim they cannot stay with their girlfriends for more than a few weeks without getting tired of them.
In a viral video shared on X (formerly Twitter), she questioned how such men intend to cope with marriage if they already struggle with spending extended time with their partners during a relationship.
In her words, she said:
“You men, you people have very stupid audacity. How can you tell me that you can’t allow your girlfriend, your girlfriend, no be say na one-year relationship, like three years relationship, to stay with you? If she stays with you for more than two weeks, you’ll be tired.”
She argued that marriage requires far more commitment than dating, stressing that anyone who gets bored after a short period may not be ready for married life.
According to her, many people forget that a wedding ceremony lasts only a day, while marriage is a lifelong commitment that requires patience, understanding, and constant companionship.
“So how would you marry? Wedding and marriage na two different things. Wedding is a day, marriage is for life. So how do you intend on marrying? Abi the woman should be going to her parents’ house and be coming to your side, stay for two weeks, then go back?” she added.
Her comments have sparked mixed reactions online, with some agreeing that cohabitation helps build stronger relationships, while others argued that individuals have different emotional boundaries.
The video continues to generate debate on social media about compatibility, tolerance, and readiness for marriage.
