JUST IN: “Voting Against Tinubu Would Be Evil, He Is Our In-Law” – Oborevwori Backs President’s 2027 Re-Election Bid

Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has stirred political discussions after declaring that it would be “evil” for the people of Delta State to vote against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

Speaking during a television interview, Oborevwori argued that President Tinubu enjoys a special connection with Delta State through First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, whom he described as having roots in the state. According to the governor, this relationship makes the President an “in-law” to the people of Delta and deserving of their support.

The governor stated that among the political figures currently being discussed ahead of the 2027 election, Tinubu is the only one with such a direct affiliation to Delta State. He described supporting the President as a family obligation, insisting that many residents now see the President as one of their own.

Oborevwori also expressed confidence that Delta voters would rally behind the ruling APC during the next election cycle. He noted that political dynamics in the state have changed significantly and suggested that voters would focus more on party loyalty than individual candidates.

Defending the Tinubu administration, the governor praised the President’s economic reforms, arguing that they have improved revenue generation for states across the country. He said the increased funds available to state governments have made it easier to execute infrastructure projects and deliver development programmes.

The remarks come as political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections continue to gather momentum, with parties and influential politicians positioning themselves for what is expected to be a highly competitive contest. While supporters of the President have welcomed Oborevwori’s comments, opposition figures are likely to view the statement as part of the growing campaign for Tinubu’s re-election bid.
