Founder of Salvation Ministries, David Ibiyeomie, has spoken about the ongoing insecurity crisis in Nigeria, insisting that criminal groups often have sponsors and backers.
Speaking during a sermon, the cleric argued that security agencies possess the capacity to track suspects and carry out arrests when necessary.
According to him, kidnappers holding abducted children are unlikely to be operating without support from sponsors.
“Kidnappers are not just holding those children without sponsors. Do you know the kind of work DSS does? They can track and arrest you anywhere.”
Pastor Ibiyeomie also addressed his previous comments about voting, explaining that he spoke out of frustration but has since reaffirmed his commitment to participating in elections.
“Out of anger, I said I wouldn’t vote, but I will vote because it is my right.”
The cleric further appealed to the Independent National Electoral Commission and the judiciary to uphold public trust and ensure credible democratic processes.
“I want to appeal to INEC and the judiciary not to disappoint Nigerians, because they have disappointed us before, including under a former INEC chairman.”
His remarks have generated mixed reactions online, with many Nigerians sharing differing views on insecurity, elections and the role of institutions.
