An emotional moment unfolded during a lecture when students surprised their lecturer in class, leaving him speechless and visibly moved.

The mass communication and media lecturer, identified as Fidelis Oduah, was in the middle of teaching when one student stood up and placed a bag on the desk in front of him.
Although briefly distracted, he ignored the gesture and continued with his lecture.
Moments later, however, more students entered the classroom, singing songs of praise and appreciation and chanting his name.

Oduah stood still, unsure of what was happening, clutching his microphone as the students marched and danced to the front of the classroom carrying bags filled with various household items.
They brought foodstuffs, cleaning supplies and drinks, including soda, milk and water, all of which they placed before their beloved lecturer.
The grateful students sang and danced for the elderly man, with some slipping cash into his pockets.
He stood smiling and looking bewildered as another student showered him with money in a heartfelt show of appreciation for his dedication and care.
“What’s happening here? Class representative, what is happening?” he asked.
“Our father is this one; we don’t have another one; we love you,” the mass communication students sang in response.

After several minutes of singing and dancing, Oduah finally got an opportunity to speak and thank the students for their thoughtful gesture.
“Sincerely, I don’t really know what to say. I am overwhelmed and surprised. All these things for Barrister Oduah? I did not expect this. I just came in to deliver my normal lecture and now this is happening,” he said.

Oduah further noted that, ordinarily, he should be the one giving gifts to the students. He expressed his gratitude that they had taken the time to think about him during the examination period instead of focusing solely on themselves.
The emotional lecturer prayed that they would never lack anything in life because of their kindness.
“It is my sincere prayer that may God replenish your fortune a million-fold in Jesus’ name. May the Almighty also grant you your heart’s desires, and in this forthcoming examination, may you pass exceedingly well. Those who are seeking partners, may you find the right partners in Jesus’ name,” he prayed as the students responded with a loud “Amen”.
