Magret Muthoki is now a proud mother of four after successfully giving birth to healthy triplets at Kibwezi Sub-County Hospital.
Her delivery was nothing short of a miracle, as she welcomed the three bundles of joy following a life-threatening complication.
The 30-year-old, who gave birth through a Caesarean section, had developed eclampsia, a serious condition involving seizures that occur in pregnant women with preeclampsia, according to the Cleveland Clinic.

“My water had broken, and I was not even ready to give birth. I came to the hospital, and they did a scan, which showed that I was carrying two babies. However, during delivery, I gave birth to three babies. When I was told I was pregnant with twins, I prepared myself for two babies and bought clothes for them. After giving birth, I had to shop for more clothes for the third baby,” she said.

Kibwezi Sub-County Hospital Matron Patricia Mumbua said the mother developed eclampsia, prompting doctors to move swiftly to save both her life and those of the babies through an emergency Caesarean section.
She added that the mother and the newborns are in stable condition and will remain admitted for one week for close monitoring and specialised care.
David Mutisya, the triplets’ father, said he had also expected twins after the scan and was equally shocked when his wife delivered triplets.

“We were expecting two babies and had prepared ourselves for twins. Despite the outcome, I am still happy as a father. All I ask is that anyone who can assist us kindly do so because raising three children at once is not easy. However, as a man, I will push myself and do my best to provide for my family,” he said.

Victoria Mkwizu welcomes five babies at once
