A 26-year old man, Abiodun Odusanya, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly breaking into the house of a lady, Kemi Agboola and carting away items he claimed to have bought for her.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Odusanya, has been arrested and charged for conspiracy, burglary and stealing under the Criminal Law of the State.
The incident happened on 12th May, 2026, at Otunba Olawale Street, Better Life Bus Stop, Abaranje, Lagos, where the complainant, Kemi Agboola, resides.
According to the Police, the suspect went with another person now at large in the morning when the complainant was not around, broke into the apartment and carted away some items.
Among the items allegedly stolen included mattress, 32 inches LG Plasma Television, Two neck beads, Neck Chain and One Wrist Watch, properties of the complainant.
When the complainant came back, she discovered that the house was burgled and the items stolen. She reported the matter to the Police at Ikotun Division. The suspect was then arrested and detained at the station for interrogation.
After rounds of interrogation, the Police found him culpable and charged him before the Ejigbo Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charges read:
“That you, Abiodun Odusanya ‘m’ and another still at large, on 12th May, 2026, at about 0800hrs, at Otunba Olawale Street, Better Life Bus Stop, Abaranje, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did conspire together to commit felony to wit: stealing and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 411 of the Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015.”
COUNT II:” That you, Abiodun Odusanya ‘m’ and another still at large, on same date, time and place in the Aforesaid Magisterial District, did break the residence of one Kemi Agboola ‘f and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 309(2), of the Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015.
COUNT III: “That you, Abiodun Odusanya ‘m’ And other still at large, on same date, time and place in the Aforesaid Magisterial District, did unlawfully enter into the residence of one Kemi Agboola with intent to commit felony and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 308 (1) (2), of the Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015.”
COUNT IV:” That you, Abiodun Odusanya ‘m’ and another still at large, on same date, time and place in the Aforesaid Magisterial District, did steal One 12 by 12 mattress valued Two Hundred and Fifty naira ( 250,000,00), One 32 inches LG Plasma Television valued One Hundred and Eighty Thousand Naira (180,000,00), Two neck beads valued Fifty Thousand naira (N 50,000,00), Neck Chain valued Twenty Thousand Naira (N 20,000,00), One Wrist Watch valued Five Thousand Naira (5,000) Property of One Agboola kemi ‘f total valued of property stolen is Five Hundred and Five Thousand Naira (N 505,000,00), and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 280 and punishable under Section 287 of the Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015.”
However, he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector Simeon Njue, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, F. Ogunkoyede, granted him bail in the sum of N250,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned till 23rd June, 2026, for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
