Super Eagles striker Akor Adams has revealed how Nigeria plan to approach their international friendly against Poland as Eric Chelle’s men prepare for a stern test in Warsaw on Wednesday evening.
The three-time African champions face the Biało-czerwoni at the Stadion Narodowy, looking to build on the momentum generated by their recent Unity Cup triumph in London.
Adams confident despite limited preparation
Although he was not part of Nigeria’s squad for the Unity Cup, Adams is expected to play a prominent role against Poland, especially with several regular attacking options unavailable.
The Sevilla forward admitted preparations have been brief but insisted the players are ready to execute the coach’s plans.
“We’ve had a very short time to train and to prepare for the game,” Adams said in an interview with Ubuntu Pitch.

“Like always, I think we’re ready. We know why we’re here. Poland are very good opponents.
“Many of us have had a lot of games through our legs in the course of the season, but we’re ready and we’ll see what happens.”
Chelle building a clear identity
Adams also highlighted the tactical philosophy introduced by Chelle since taking charge of the national team.
According to the striker, the Super Eagles are developing a style centred on intensity, aggression and confidence in possession.
“Since the head coach came, we have tried to build an identity around our strengths. We play with a lot of intensity and aggressiveness. We also like to play with the ball,” he explained.
“We take our chances when they come. Like every other game, we’re going to play our way, keep our DNA and try to get the result.”
Super Eagles seek another positive result
Nigeria head into the encounter in high spirits after defeating Zimbabwe and Jamaica to successfully defend their Unity Cup title.
The Super Eagles have only faced Poland once before, claiming a 1-0 victory in a friendly match in 2018 thanks to a Victor Moses penalty.
Kick-off at the Stadion Narodowy is scheduled for 7:45 pm (WAT).
