Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe is ignoring the backlash over her celebrity designer friend, Luminee.
It is no longer news that the celebrity designer has welcomed her first child with disgraced actor, Baba Ijesha.
On her Instagram page, she shared maternity photos of Luminee and her newborn, congratulating her on the arrival of her bundle of joy.
“Big congratulations to my darling @ceolumineeofficial on the arrival of her bundle of joy!! Ayo Abaratintin. Olorun a wo, a dasi fun wa”.
Following the news, videos from Luminee’s baby shower made headlines online. Mercy and Eniola Ajao were in attendance at the event, which didn’t sit well with many. Aigbe was captured providing moral support to the new mum, who was emotional at the surprise shower.
Recall that in 2021, comedienne Princess accused Ijesha of defiling her 14-year-old ward. In a video that was made available online, the actress accused Baba Ijesha of molesting her daughter without consent.
In 2022, Baba Ijesha had bagged 5 years imprisonment for raping comedienne, Princess’s 14 years old daughter.
On Friday, November 15th, 2025, the famous actor was released from prison, after spending over three years in custody over alleged sexual assault.
Speaking out, Baba Ijesha, in an interview with Biola, had addressed his rape allegations, maintaining that he isn’t a pedophile nor a rapist. He said Princess knows she has betrayed everyone she has ever been friends with, and expressed how hurt he was by how Iyabo Ojo turned on him. He noted that he had taken care of her kids when they were younger, yet she doubted him.
