Eyewitnesses reported that the rally, which had drawn a large crowd of supporters and onlookers, turned chaotic after heated chants and disagreements over political dissatisfaction began to spread. In a matter of minutes, banners, posters, and flags were pulled down, stomped on, and scattered across the streets.
Security operatives were said to have intervened to prevent further escalation, but the atmosphere had already become highly charged, with youths expressing frustration over issues they linked to governance, economic hardship, and unfulfilled promises.
Some of the youths at the scene claimed their actions were driven by anger over worsening living conditions and lack of opportunities. Others insisted the rally was meant to send a strong message to political leaders ahead of future elections.
A resident who witnessed the incident described the scene as “shocking and intense,” noting that normal activities were briefly disrupted as people fled the area for safety.
Political observers say the incident reflects growing political tension and dissatisfaction among young people, especially in regions where economic hardship continues to fuel frustration. They warn that unless urgent dialogue is encouraged, such confrontations may become more frequent as political activities intensify.
