A Lexus sedan was involved in a dramatic single-vehicle crash at Timber Junction, Rumuosi, along the East-West Road in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, after it reportedly lost control, struck an electric pole and a makeshift container, and subsequently overturned.
Eyewitnesses said the vehicle was conveying three young occupants at the time of the incident when it veered off its lane under yet-to-be-ascertained circumstances. The impact of the collision reportedly caused the car to somersault, drawing the attention of passersby and other road users in the busy corridor.
Despite the severity of the crash, all three occupants reportedly survived and sustained only minor injuries. They were said to have managed to exit the overturned vehicle before receiving assistance from bystanders at the scene.
The accident temporarily disrupted movement along the East-West Road axis around Rumuosi, as the damaged vehicle and debris obstructed traffic flow near Timber Junction. Normal traffic was later restored after the wreckage was cleared.
