AKWA IBOM, NIGERIA – June 12, 2026 – A secondary school in Uyo has been thrown into turmoil following the circulation of a viral video uploaded by newsbase.ng showing three female students twerking without underwear inside what appears to be a school dormitory.
The administration of Gracehill High School confirmed late Tuesday that it has launched a full-scale disciplinary investigation, describing the incident as a “severe breach of moral and digital conduct.
The 45-second clip, which began circulating on twitter on Monday night, allegedly shows the Senior Secondary School (SSS) 2 students recording themselves dancing to a popular Afrobeats track. Observers noted the absence of underwear due to the transparency of the shorts they were wearing during the act.
In a statement signed by the school’s Principal, Mrs. Beatrice Okon, the institution condemned the footage as “utterly disgraceful and contrary to the values of modesty and discipline we uphold.
We are aware of a disturbing video involving some of our female students. Let it be known that this act did not occur during school hours or under staff supervision, but within the hostel premises after lights-out, the statement read. The students have been identified and their parents summoned for an emergency meeting.
The school has suspended the trio indefinitely pending a disciplinary committee hearing. Management also threatened to expel the students if found guilty of bringing the institution’s name into public disrepute.
